Richelle Walling Gains Confidence and Achieves Real Results from the Jeans Challenge

Before joining the Eastpointe Shore Results Jeans Challenge, I was in one of those places in life where I knew something needed to change, but couldn’t muster up the energy to move into a different way of living, or even thinking for that matter.

I was in a place where I needed to break the pattern of “should-ing.” I should have gone to the gym today, I shouldn’t have had that cupcake, I should be more productive, and that list go on and on! This way of thinking sucks up our energy and leaves us stuck. After all, Newton’s law does state that an object in motion tends to stay in motion. Therefore, when we are stuck within our thoughts, we tend to remain this way. I was fed up with living this way so when I heard about the challenge I promised myself that I would do it. This was my kick.

I believe that nourishment for the mind, body and soul are very important things for establishing a healthy lifestyle. It can feel so difficult at times to remain grounded with all of the chaos in the world. However, the more you remember to care for yourself, and actually do it, the more habitual it becomes, and the more you crave building healthier habits. This is exactly what happened to me during the 8 week jeans challenge journey.

Over the past few years my version of self-care consisted of fast food establishments, irregular sleeping patterns, and not taking action. Making the commitment to devote 4 days a week to the gym for 8 weeks in a row seemed a bit overwhelming. Little did I know this would soon become my healthiest addiction! The challenge pushed me to make serious changes. Being held accountable made the difference and my mom, who also joined the challenge, was by my side every step of the way!

Fast forward to after the jeans challenge and I honestly couldn’t picture my life without Eastpointe Health & Fitness and Shore Results. What makes this place so different from any other gym is the supportive staff. The trainers continue to motivate me even on days when I don’t want to lift my head from the pillow. Eastpointe feels like family, and I just want to spread the word to anyone else who may be in the same rut I was in.

Prior to committing myself to this program I was feeling like everything was such a chore in life. However, the confidence I gained over the past several weeks coupled with the actual results I achieved from the challenge provided me with a much more positive outlook on life. My attention span has increased, I feel happier and more motivated, and most importantly I am finding that I love and appreciate myself a lot more than when I had first stepped foot into this program.
