Dick at 78 Climbs 10,000-foot Mountains Thanks to his Shore Results Training

At 78 years old, most people are content with gentle walks and quiet hobbies. But for Dick, age is no barrier to adventure. Recently, Dick achieved an extraordinary feat—climbing 10,000-foot mountains in Nepal and Bhutan – thanks to a customized personal training program at Eastpointe Health & Fitness.

Dick, a long-time Shore Results client, hit a setback in 2024, as he found himself struck with illness that landed him in the hospital. Thankfully, he fully recovered but he still suffered a tremendous loss of strength and conditioning. However, this was only the challenge before the challenge, and under the guidance of Julia and the other Shore Results personal trainers, Dick steadily improved his strength, endurance, and had him sizing up those mountains once again. The trainers crafted a customized program that incorporated resistance training, mobility work, and conditioning – everything he would need to successfully make his climb.

His mountain climb was by no means a small endeavor, and he credits much of it to the time and effort he put in at Shore Results; joking that even his mountain guides were surprised at his level of fitness at 78. He continues to work his program regularly and is already looking to put together his next adventure, with the guidance and support of Julia and Shore Results.
