|Letter from Paul Mazzella, Owner, Eastpointe Health & Fitness:
I hope that you and your family are safe and staying healthy.
As you already know, in accordance with the NJ mandate, our fitness center was closed as of Monday evening March 16th and will remain so until further notice. All memberships have been automatically placed on freeze and you will be able to use any membership time for which you already paid. Eastpointe Integrated Health Care, which includes our Chiropractic and Physical Therapy services, currently remains open on a limited schedule. (Please refer to the hours in the section below).
As always, our member’s health and fitness is our primary concern. I know that this is a very unsettling time and realize that fitness routines are very helpful to increase our immunity, relieve our stress and add to our mental state of well-being. You can trust that I am staying on top of the guidelines and that as soon as we are able to reopen, even if on a limited basis, we will do so.
In the meantime, some good things to look forward to!
- We are working in the facility to be ready for our re-opening with a new group fitness room floor. We have taken this opportunity to complete the repairs to the foundation under the floor that was causing the bubbling. This will be completed by the end of the week.
- We will be launching our next challenge “The Memorial Day Melt-Away” as soon as possible after the re-opening. Information on the program is included in this newsletter but we will be announcing the dates as soon as we can and extending the end date and/or prorating the pricing based on participation. We have all endured quite a bit of an adjustment to our lifestyles while we have been home. This challenge will be a great way to get you back on track and give you the support you need to get there!
- We are rescheduling the dates for any workshops that were impacted by the closure: Tai Chi Level 1 and 2 as well as Cardio Yoga.
- Our training team has also posted some great workouts that do not require any equipment and we will continue to do this as we are able.

Eastpointe Integrated Healthcare – Update on Hours
While we are doing our best to continue to provide care for those who need it, the situation is fluid and may change on a day to day basis. As of this issue of the newsletter, our office will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
Workout & Nutrition Videos
Several of our fitness instructors have started posting workout videos that require no equipment (or minimal equipment) that you can do at home. We’ve compiled these videos, along with Nutrition videos, here, and will keep adding new videos to this page regularly.

Our monthly newsletter is one of the many ways that we are able to keep our members updated with happenings at the club. Your feedback is always important to us and we want to keep the lines of communication open. Recent events have exemplified the need to ensure proper methods are in place.

And the Winner is……
BIG Losses Announced in the New Year, New You Body Transformation Challenge!
On January 20th, the 2020 New Year; New You Body Transformation Contest challenged sixteen teams to lose the most body fat while gaining muscle. Contest participants received exercise and nutrition coaching to help them on their fitness journey. Team members also attended a workshop at the start of the program to learn how to achieve the most effective results. In addition to the ongoing fitness coaching, participants received weekly motivational emails, had access to online forums and web-based information – all offered to provide the critical support proven to increase success rates.
On March 1st the program ended and all final weigh-ins were complete. There was no arguing with the amazing results! 380 lbs of fat loss– a true testament to everyone’s dedication and hard work. The team-based competition was a huge success with everyone working hard toward their goals.
Finale Party Results and Awards!
The Finale Party was held on Tuesday evening, March 3rd.
The winning team consisted of: Marie Jackson, Sherry Lombardi, Dave Schutzenhofer and Robert Thuss. The team took home $4000 as first place winners!

The Shore Results Team and all of our Eastpointe Staff would like to thank our participants and congratulate them for a job well done! And for the participants who didn’t win the cash or special prizes? Well, they are still big winners. They walked away from this contest with a new body and the knowledge and experience to keep their transformation going.

Group Fitness Upcoming Workshops and Special Events – RESCHEDULED
Tai Chi Continuing at Eastpointe Health & Fitness
EPH&F is proud to announce that we will continue our Tai Chi practice with instructor Kai Kusinow! This gentle form of exercise can help maintain strength, flexibility, and balance and is the perfect activity for the rest of your life!
Our first session, which started in January, was sold out. We will now be offering another Level 1 Workshop AS WELL AS a Level 2 Workshop. Dates will be rescheduled as soon as we get the OK to reopen.
