Yet new research indicates that a large majority of children around the world are not sufficiently active. Researchers analyzed data from 298 school-based surveys in 146 countries, including 1.6 million students ages 11-17. Researchers used data collected between 2001 and 2016. <br><br> The study found that 81% of children and adolescents in this  age range were insufficiently active, getting less than the recommended 60 minutes of moderate-vigorous exercise every day. The trend persisted across all country income groups.
