At least 6 days a week I was spinning, running and walking. I liked the excitement of cardio and I thought that was all I needed but I wasn\u2019t seeing any changes to my body. After aerobic workouts I would go to Shore Results for a protein shake and I would peek at the people lifting weights. I was intimidated and thought I was too old at 57 to start. I was convinced that weight lifting wasn\u2019t for me. The times I had attempted it in the past, I didn\u2019t do it properly so I gave up. But nonetheless I was intrigued and decided to sign up for a 3 week trial at Shore Results.<\/p>\n<p>I must admit that I had serious reservations that I wouldn\u2019t be able to handle it or stick\u00a0with it. After two weeks I was hooked! First the trainers asked me about my goals. What was I looking to change? What did I want to accomplish? I wanted to lower my BMI (Body Mass Indicator), lose 10 pounds and improve my posture. After going through a series of tests, my trainers designed a detailed program to help me achieve my goals. I saw results in the first month!<\/p>\n<p>I learned so much and I truly feel that everyone at Shore Results\u2026the other members, myself, and the trainers are a team. I learned that lean muscle burns calories and that is why I wasn\u2019t seeing results with simply doing aerobic exercise. Now I love swinging a kettle bell and one of my main accomplishments, one that I never thought I could do, is dead lifts. Not only am I doing dead lifts but I\u2019ve been steadily adding weight! The Shore Results team also helps me work on my posture. They really watch you and your technique. I\u2019ll be working out at Shore Results and I\u2019ll hear a trainer from across the room encouraging me to \u201cstraighten my back, chest out\u201d. Now when I\u2019m anywhere, in my car or church, I hear those encouraging words and I straighten up. They also change my program every 6 to 8 weeks keeping it interesting and fun.<\/p>\n<p>Joining Shore Results was the best thing I could have done for myself. To date I have achieved my first set of goals; my BMI is below 25, I\u2019ve lost 13 lbs. and my posture is improved. I want to keep going though because I just love the way I feel every time I come to Shore Results and the way I feel after. The energy there is so positive and motivating and it\u2019s exciting to see my results each month. I can\u2019t wait to go everyday. I realized that if it doesn\u2019t challenge you, it\u2019s not going to change you.
