Be sure to try some classes with our new instructors!

Eastpointe Health and Fitness is happy to announce that we have some great new instructors; some of you will recognize a couple of familiar faces!

Melissa Schutzenhofer is a Shore Results member and is a new spin instructor at Eastpointe Health and Fitness. Exercise is a major part of Melissa’s life and she trains for strength and cardiovascular fitness regularly. She has participated in various local runs and sprint triathlons and last year finished first in her age group in the Jersey Girl Marathon.

Melissa has earned a certification as a spin instructor and participants in her classes enjoy high energy levels, fun spin tunes and an overall professional and organized approach. Melissa’s spin classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 AM, Saturdays at 7 AM and Sundays at 8 AM.

Melissa regularly volunteers for the Atlantic Highlands PTO, coaches softball with the Sandy Hook Little League and coaches a girls running club called Girls On The Run. Melissa resides in Atlantic Highlands with her husband and 3 children. She is an accomplished potter with a full studio in her home.

Fitness is a life long journey. Melissa encourages everyone to come and try spin. As she reminds everyone at the beginning of her classes—It’s your ride! Her job is to guide and encourage everyone to give 100% effort in every class.

Becky Shaheen is a certified personal trainer through the International Sports Science Association. She worked for many years at Eastpointe Health and Fitness before taking some time off to start her family. Fitness is such a passion of hers. She knew that she needed to get back into the fitness world. She is grateful that she is able to be back at Eastpointe.

She is full of energy and truly enjoys providing a safe and fun environment in her classes. Her goal is to never let anyone get bored by constantly changing up the content and choreography. Becky has trained and coached children, athletes, men, women, pregnant women and seniors. She has also taught various fitness classes including bodysculpting, kickboxing, step, boot camp, core conditioning, kids fitness, pre and post natal and speed and agility. Training and teaching has always been her calling because she finds so much joy in helping others.

Her classes are designed to motivate, challenge and encourage everyone to work hard and become healthier. Becky looks forward to reconnecting with past clients and building relationships with new ones. She hopes to see both old and new faces at her classes every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 9:15 AM. She promises not to disappoint!

Aleta Turbig is a certified Zumba instructor and an annual attendee of the Zumba Convention. She is a member in good standing of the Zumba Instructors Network. She currently teaches Zumba on Saturday morning at 9 AM. Aleta enjoys teaching a great cardio workout that is nothing but fun and motivating dance moves.
